Where do science projects come from?

Middle School students participate in the Synopsys Championship, Future City, as well as classroom projects. Science projects may originate from classroom projects, perhaps personal interests, discussions with teachers and parents. No matter the source of inspiration, any of these may lead to ideas and hypothesis expressed in projects suitable for competition with local peers in many categories.
Participation in a science fair, or any other academic competition can be the inspiration to pursue careers based in STEM curriculum. Furthermore, participation in academic competition helps develop strong character and personal esteem. MCS staff are committed to educating the whole child.

The Santa Clara Valley Science & Engineering Fair Association is the official science fair for the county of Santa Clara. Students passionate about the sciences are provided a showcase to share the result of many hours of thought, research, hard work, and effort outside of the classroom.  Since 2004 Milpitas Christian Middle School students have participated in this event and have achieved excellence, for example;
2013 – Two 1st place awards in the 7th Grade Engineering category
2014 – A 1st place award in the 6th Grade Physics category
2016 - Certificate of Achievement in the 7th Grade Physical Science and Engineering category
The Synopsys Championship is associated with the Society of Science & the Public. Top projects are selected and invited to participate in other state and national competitions, including the prestigious Intel International Science & Engineering Fair.
In 2016, students from Milpitas Christian School had numerous projects approved for exhibition - Way to go Lions!
